Cutting Control

The Cutting App shows one cutter their work. The Cut Plan tab on a Production Order shows one order's cuts. Cutting Control is the missing third view: every open Cutting Order in the factory, across every order, on one Kanban board.

It is the planner's screen — the one you open to decide what the cutting room does next.

The board

Columns are the cutting pipeline: Pending → Marked → Spread → Cut, with Handed Over hidden by default and shown with a toggle. A card moves right as the floor works it.

Each card carries what a planner needs to prioritise without opening anything:

• Production Order, batch code and colour, with the variant swatch.
• Marker Order and its ratio, plies, sizes, pieces cut against total.
• A four-segment progress bar for the four workflow stages.
• The cutting unit, and a warning when no unit is set.
• Status history on hover, including the pause or stop reason.

Cards use the same visual language as the Cut Plan board: the state icon, the progress segments, and hazard striping on a cut that is stopped. If you know one, you can read the other.

Filter by batch code, by cutting unit, or by the order.

What you can do from here

The board is read-and-act, not free drag — you can't drag a cut from Spread to Cut, because that transition means something physical happened and it belongs to whoever did it. What the board does give you is the three interventions a planner actually needs:

• Liberate — release a cut that isn't liberated yet, so the floor can start it.
• Resume — restart a paused cut.
• Re-open — reopen a stopped one.

Plus Print for the cutting order, and a refresh.

When to use it

• Morning. Look at the Pending column. Anything without a cutting unit is unassigned work that nobody will pick up.
• When a line goes idle. Find the Cut column: pieces already cut and not yet handed over are the fastest thing to unblock.
• When something is stopped. Hazard-striped cards carry their stop reason. Deal with the reason, then Re-open.
